Why/How did the Commonwealth start?
How is it owned by?
Answer
its a nation a great amount of people called the british, a fraction of ingland
Most of the countries in the commonwealth were once ruled by Britain which is why English is the main language of the Commonwealth. In 1931, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa decided to join Britain in a club called the Commonwealth of Nations.
In 1947, India and Pakistan became independent after a long struggle against Britain. Two years later India decided that it also wanted to stay in the Commonwealth as a republic and agreed to accept the British king or queen as a symbol.

The members of the British Empire were very different but they had gone through a lot together, so when it closed down they made a new ‘Club’ which is now called the Commonwealth of Nations. Some of the nations that joined had never been in the British Empire and some had dropped out of it but were allowed to join.
The commonwealth is owned by
Queen Elizabeth the 2nd and it was started by the British Empire (England) .
